Hair cuts mark life changes in women’s lives — am I right or am I right? I got my hair cut up all fancy on my honeymoon to mark the beginning of my life as a married woman and today I got my hair chopped once again, this time before a season of moving and travel and change.
While we have known change has been in the works for some time now there have been too many unknowns for me to know where to begin. Well, the unknowns are quickly fading and as of tonight I have finished my job, Tim has gotten accepted to the P&O program at Northwestern in Chicago, and we are sleeping on our second hand fold out couch surrounded by boxes. We just bought plane tickets to go to Japan in less than two months and a week from tomorrow we leave for 3 weeks on the road journeying across the country and landing our subaru impreza in Knoxville for some Hannifin family festivities.
Change feels good and healthy and real even in the midst of hearts that do not want to leave friends and family and this city that we love. This week is a week of reveling in what the Lord has provided for us here from those people that we love so dearly to time in the summer sun eating fresh food and riding our bikes! Revel we will — with intermittent anxiety attacks about what will make it in the moving truck and if we will have time to actually clean our apartment — but mostly reveling.
So much more to come and hopefully a small makeover to our blog before we hit the road, but we are overall overjoyed for the journey ahead… and the haircut is checked off the to do list.
