After Yosemite we headed down through the Cali Valley heat and out to the coast again. This time we made a couple quick stops at Monterey and Carmel and then drove down Highway 1 at sunset. It was just too beautiful to think about dinner or where we are camping that night (so lets just say neither dinner or our campsite that night were top notch). This is one of those experiences that is perhaps captured better in pictures than words.
While I don’t know if it is fair to call this a LOW point I will say that our camping experience in Big Sur involved a less than desirable campsite, Ashley getting stung by a bee, rain, vanilla wafers and peanut butter for dinner, and a bird that took a huge crap on our tent. You’ve gotta have those moments though, right?
Needless to say we woke up early that next morning and booked it down to Cambria for hot coffee and breakfast. More to come on our time in the central coast (sorry, we are going slow on the bloggidy blog).
