Whew, we got a little behind with our blog as there isn’t much internet in the Utah wilderness, but we are alive and well! Last weekend we were in Los Angeles and we got to see some amazing friends! Our time in LA was full and rich. We spent a couple nights in Santa Monica with our newlywed friends Dave and Erin Pommer and we felt spoiled by them and by the chance to ride our bikes around the neighborhood, surf in Malibu, and take showers/do laundry!
After a couple days in Santa Monica, we went and met our friend Elijah in his hood – Los Feliz (don’t ask us how to say this because we can’t). We ate lunch in this hipster hood and then found a sports bar where we watched Tennessee v. Oregon and UW v. Syracuse.
We then spent a couple nights in the La Cresenta hood (Deidra told us this is a made up Spanish word for crescent) hanging out with Teby, Deidra, and their families. We got to go to the Hollywood farmers market and then go to church with Teby in Hollywood (Ecclesia).
We ate good food and sat by the pool at the Little’s casa. Is it strange that I kind of felt like a local after a few days in LA? We became “usuals” at Froyo Life in Montrose as we went two nights in a row and I couldn’t get enough! I also gave a lady directions in Santa Monica – no big deal.
