We have been counting down the months, days, and then hours until 2011. That’s not true – we have actually been counting down the months, days, and hours until we get to see our good friends Leah, Rick, and Reed! The two just happen to coincide. On our way to visit them last weekend in Highlands, N.C. I had to get on to Tim about spending too long cleaning our windshield – we could not get there fast enough!
We celebrated the coming of 2011 with The Rodenbeck family in Highlands, N.C. with a walk through the snowy woods, eating yummy meals by Martha, and playing our fair share of competitive games around the kitchen table. Good friends are just plain good for the heart and we kicked off 2011 with full hearts!
Besides getting to be with wonderful friends, I will say that I love the New Year for the hope and intentionality that it brings. Although there are a lot of unknowns for us this year, when I look ahead I am hopeful for what is to come — for what God is going to do and how He is going to change us in 2011. I am reminded to be intentional and disciplined in what is important to me and not to stress about those things that are not.
Happy New Year Y’all!
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
