Brooks and I got the wonderful gift of a trip to Seattle in early May to visit friends and family. How we got so lucky with weather I will never know as it was an unusual 70’s and sunny every day we were there! Brooks got some good time with his grandparents and got to meet two of his amazing aunts. One of my favorite moments was when he met Emily and could not stop laughing at her. Check out the video (seriously, even if you don’t look at the pictures below)
I was spoiled as Brooks would snuggle with his grandparents in the morning and I got some extra sleep and morning workouts in with Maureen. I am always struck upon returning to Seattle how lush, green, and thriving the northwest is and the VanOss yard is a peaceful haven for sunny spring days:
Along with meeting aunts, Brooks also got to meet some new friends including Reed and West (his best buds, even though he doesn’t know it yet):
It was wonderful to catch up with friends, walk around Greenlake, get nails done with girlfriends, drink good coffee, window shop with Leah, spend a day in Edmonds, and enjoy sweet moments with Brooks around town. Here are some pictures of some of our adventures:
I had nightmares the month before our trip about what the 4 hour flights would be like and, praise the Lord, they went as well as I could have imagined. Brooks slept for a lot of the time, had a blow out in the airport before we got on the plane, and even made friends with people around him. The key was to get on the southwest flights and sit toward the back on an aisle seat. No one wants to sit at the back of a plane trapped in by a baby – we had so much room to ourselves!
